My Top 3 Priorities

  • Preparing for wildfires by securing over $350 million in firefighting improvements, created the County Fire Authority for better coordination, secured additional ground and air support and decreased response times by 50% for both fire and medical.
  • Keeping our neighborhoods safe by beefing up patrol deputies, opened new Sheriff’s stations and detention centers, fighting against human trafficking and placement of sexually violent predators in our communities.
  • Protecting your tax dollars by maintaining a triple-A credit rating, ensuring adequate reserves, cutting pension benefits, no deferred maintenance and building state-of-the-art facilities with cash, saving taxpayers over $1.3 billion.

Dianne Jacob has earned a reputation as a fighter, fighting for fundamental changes to make County government more accountable to taxpayers – the people who pay the bills. From transforming the region’s fire protection system after the largest fire disaster in California history to posting information about registered sex offenders on the Internet, Dianne doesn’t back down from a challenge. At a community event, Dianne was once introduced as, “… a woman who has the guts to do the right thing, even though it’s not the popular thing.

“A native San Diegan whose roots run three-generations deep, Dianne represents the 2nd District on the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, including Ramona, Julian and all of the other unincorporated communities in East County, the cities of El Cajon, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, Santee and Poway, and the communities of Allied Gardens, College Area, Del Cerro, Grantville, Navajo, Rolando and San Carlos in the City of San Diego.

She has been honored as Legislator of the Year Awards by the California Narcotics Officers Association, the Border Solution Task Force, the Industrial Environmental Association, the San Diego Merchants Association, the San Diego Domestic Violence Council, the Building Owners and Managers Association and Lean Energy U.S.

She is also a recipient of the Women Who Mean Business Award from The San Diego Business Journal and was named Alumna of the Year for San Diego State University, College of Education. She is a San Diego County School Board Hall of Fame inductee, a recipient of the Ninth District P.T.A. Honorary Service Award and a member of the San Diego Alumnae chapter of Gamma Phi Beta. Forum Publications named her the Most Accessible Politician and she received the Award of Excellence from the Endangered Habitats League.

Prior to her election to the Board of Supervisors, Dianne worked as a teacher in the East County, and was a member of the Jamul-Dulzura Union School District Board for 17 years. She was active in the California School Boards Association and served as its President in 1987.

In addition to her service on the Board of Supervisors, Dianne serves on the boards of the Local Agency Formation Commission, San Dieguito River Park, San Diego River Conservancy, Mission Trails Regional Park, Harry Griffen Regional Park, Goodan Ranch Regional Park, First Five Commission, Heartland Fire Training Facility and San Diego County Employees’ Retirement Association.
