Government exists to protect our freedoms and provide certain basic services.
Education is one of those services, and should be accountable to taxpayers, parents and students. Teachers shopuld be held to the highest standards, and be compensated fairly to attract the best talent. Parents should have educational options, not one-size-fits all mandates.
As a former teacher and elected official at the city, county and state level, I have the experience and knowledge to make a difference on the Orange County Board of Education.

Accountability, Performance and Standards.
Our schools should be accountable to parents, offering them options and providing constant interaction as to their students' performance. Schools should provide value to taxpayers in operations and facilities investment. Schools should be responsible to local elected officials, not top-down state or federal mandates such as Common Core.
Teachers should earm competitive salaries to attract and retain the best talent, then given the training and administrative support to meet the highest standards of classroom performance.
School Accountability
Schools must be accountable to students by using their time wisely and maximizing effective teaching strategies. Schools must be accountable to taxpayers with transparent fincancial practices. Schools must be accountable to parents with effective communication and interaction. Schools must be accountable to teachers and staff by providing fair compensation and training to mazimize effectiveness.
