Mis 3 prioridades principales

  • My top priority is to try preserve the Almond Ave soundwall when the 405 is widened and work with the city and OCTA on any impacts to residents (immediate threat). I have been working on this for years and vow to continue the fight.
  • I will focus on the Seal Beach Tennis Center and on the Seal Beach Community Pool projects, as I have as a Recreation & Parks Commissioner. I will continue to add recreation camps and classes in District 4.
  • Continue to focus on quality of life issues: dealing with traffic, inside and outside of our neighborhoods, and increases caused by freeway projects and development; air quality; and safety in our neighborhoods.

I am a 27 year resident of College Park East, my husband and I raising 3 children here.  I have volunteered in the community for years, in my neighborhood, in the city, the school district and in Orange County, trying to keep Seal Beach a wonderful place to live: I have volunteered on the board of the College Park East Neighborhood Association for 10 years, putting on 4 park events each year at Heather Park, as well as helping to write a monthly newsletter for residents;  I have been a Recreation & Parks Commissioner for 17 years, helping to promote recreation in Seal Beach, as well as District 4.  Working on the Founders Day Committee, I helped to raise over $100,000 to rehab the McGaugh pool, extending its life.  I served on the Seal Beach Centennial Events Committee last year; I am an alternate on the Orange County Airport Land Use Commission this year.  I have worked as a poll worker for 16 years.

I have followed the 405 widening project for 10 years.  I will continue to focus on this project in order to try to limit impacts to our residents. I will continue to press the lawsuit against Caltrans.  Traffic, that is already congested in our area, is an extremely important concern with this project.  It can affect our ability to get to work, to school, for access of emergency vehicles and for customers and employees to reach our business.

I have a long history of service, and knowledge of the issues affecting our community. I have a degree in Zoology, and graduate degrees in Biology and Systematics and Ecology.
