My name is Bill Pollock, and I am excited for the opportunity to further serve the community as a member of the Corona-Norco School Board. I was raised in Corona, graduating from Corona High School in 1982. Later, after graduating from UCLA and Wake Forest University, I returned to Corona to work in the medical field. I have been a Family Practice Physician Assistant (PA) since 1999, currently at Citrus Valley Family Practice. My wife has been a teacher for twenty years, sixteen of those in CNUSD. I have two sons, one currently a student in the district, and one having graduated from CNUSD. I have spent over twenty years volunteering in the schools and community, and want to continue serving the community as a member of the Corona-Norco School Board.

As part of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), CNUSD (and all school districts) are required to develop and update their annual spending plan. This plan, the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), explains how the district will allocate funds to improve the achievement of it's students. It is imperative that the governing board identifies the specific needs of the district, prioritize these needs, and allocate funds appropriately. In order to identify the specific needs, and to develop the strategies to meet these needs, input is necessary from all stakeholders of the district, including students, parents, teachers, staff, administrators and community members. Similarly, outcome measures need to be clearly developed to identify if goals are being met. It will be my responsibility, as a member of the governing board, to make sure input from all sources ia obtained, and the data is properly analyzed, so that funding can be directed appropriately, and in accordance with LCFF/LCAP policy. Though the LCAP is a three year plan, it is required to be revised annually, so it is imperative for board members and district administrators be cognizant of subtle trends, so improvements/changes in the LCAP can be made in a timely matter.

It is my belief that education is the cornerstone of our lives. Every single individual should have the opportunity to strive for, and achieve, a quality education. By striving to learn, we continue to grow as individuals and as a community. That is why I place such high priority in our educational system, our students and families, and our teachers, staff and schools. I want to play an active role in maintaining and broadening the success of CNUSD, and look forward to being a voice for the students, parents, teachers, staff and administrators in the district.
