City of Menifee
Measure Extending Mayoral Term of Office From
Two Years to Four Years

The City Council of the City of Menifee has placed before the voters the question whether to extend the duration of the term of the office of Mayor of the City of Menifee from two (2) years to four (4) years.

Currently, the Mayor of the City of Menifee serves two (2) year terms. This ballot measure would enact an ordinance that would, commencing with the November 2016 general election, change the duration of the mayoral term to four (4) years, such that the prevailing candidate in the 2016 mayoral election would serve from 2016 to 2020.

A “Yes” vote is a vote to extend the term of office of the Mayor of the City of Menifee from two (2) years to four (4) years. A “No” vote is a vote to keep the term of office of the Mayor of the City of Menifee at two (2) years. This measure will be approved if it receives a simple majority of “Yes” votes.
