Biografía
David Hildebrand is a Democratic Socialist running to represent the residents of the State of California in the U.S. Senate. The son of a union carpenter, and a past member of a union himself, he knows the value of protecting the working class.
David graduated from CSU Sacramento, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Government. He volunteered for Bernie Sander’s 2016 presidential campaign, and eventually became the Staging Location Director for California’s 6th Congressional District. It was during this time that he saw the true power of a grassroots campaign, run by the people and for the people.
After the primary, he felt compelled to stay involved and continue the fight for a better future. David helped out with a local school board campaign, and canvassed for healthcare, including the California single-payer bill, SB 562. After serious consideration, and seeing the toxicity of corporate money in political elections, David decided that he would start a U.S. Senate campaign to represent the working people of California.
David will defend California against a Congress and Presidency determined to cut the social, economic, and environmental programs that American workers rely on, and ensure that the government is turned back over to the people, its rightful owners.
David has worked as a Legislative Analyst for the State of California for over 6 years. He currently lives in Sacramento, with his partner Rachelanne, and their two dogs, Clyde and Aurora.

I propose ending our involvement in foreign wars and using much of the surplus money we spend on these wars to repair our infrastructure here at home. In addition, I support a federal job guarantee, which would employ American workers in areas where they are needed.
I support and promote a Single-Payer, Medicare for All system that covers all American residents, and includes medical, dental, mental health, and prescription drug coverage. No one should be turned away from necessary care due to their inability to afford it.
I support a pathway to citizenship in-place. That means there would be no need for deportation to apply for citizenship. Let's allow undocumented workers to continue to work, pay taxes, and support their families, while they apply for citizenship.
My platform includes a water reclamation and recycling program, where water is reused in major cities where it is needed, thus creating a source of water exactly where it is needed. I oppose the Twin Tunnels plan, as it is environmentally destructive, and doesn't yeild a single drop of new water.
According to a "Civility In America” survey, 75% of Americans believe that the U.S. has a major civility problem. If you are elected what will do to address this?

David Hildebrand is a Democratic Socialist in the mold of Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Much like FDR's New Deal, David firmly believes that shoring up the working class will allow everyone to succeed. We have seen the benefits of social programs that help the working class in the past, unfortunately, we have let those programs fall by the wayside, instead experimenting with privatization on many fronts, and embracing trickle-down economics.
The experiment has failed. Privatization has led to market crashed, energy shortages, and the wholesale undermining of our children's education. It's time to reinstitute the policies that have a sound record of success. That means passing a tax plan where corporations and the wealthy pay their fair share, and don't get away with paying nothing at all, while working Americans are burdened with the rising cost of housing, food, healthcare, and energy. That means education for all Americans, not based on their status or wealth.
For a society to remain successful and free, everyone must contribute. The working class has paid for corporations and the wealthy for far too long, and it is time for the wealthy to pay their fair share. More of the same will only bring us more problems. Let's build a new, green energy powered infrastructure to replace the current system. Let's brig jobs, and training for those jobs to all Americans. Let's finally get representation for the people, and not corporations.
