EXPERIENCED AND DEDICATED
21 YEARS OF DEDICATION AND COMMITMENT TO YUCAIPA SCHOOLS
For the past 21 years, it has been my honor and privilege to serve on the Yucaipa-Calimesa School Board. My family moved here in 1969 because of the excellent schools. My mother taught in Yucaipa, my son and I graduated from Yucaipa High and my grandson currently attends Yucaipa Schools. Quality education is important to my family.
Owning a Civil Engineering business, I, like many of you, have been affected by the changing culture of our town and country. It is now a fact that the security and safety of our students is an every day concern. I will continue to make safety a priority in our excellent schools.
Finally, with proper oversight, we can provide safe schools, improve our programs, technology and services while maintaining a balanced budget. My experience and dedication are critical and essential assets in spending money wisely and in the best interest of our students.
I am endorsed by the Yucaipa-Calimesa Educators Association who have led the way in guiding our students to state and national honors. Our staff and schools continue to be recognized for their outstanding accomplishments.
I look forward to and appreciate your continued support and vote in this election.
We've accomplished a lot!
Some of the great things happening in our District and history.
Our School District is a very important part of our community. It has been my honor to be a part of it as a Board Member for the past 21 years. However, my history with YCJUSD goes back even further. Many of you know my father, Bob Ingram, who served on the board for 10 years and my mother, Gayle Ingram, who was a teacher here in the District for about 25 years. I also graduated from YHS, as well as my son, and now my grandchildren are on the road to being T-Birds.
When I look back on the changes we have made in the District during my tenure, I can only feel pride. We have created pathways at the high school that encourage students to explore engineering, science, bio-health, law enforcement, fire fighting, public safety, medicine and so much more.
I was an advocate for the engineering pathway at YHS. Due to the success of this pathway, we now have Law-enforcement and Public Safety as well as Health and Biomedical Sciences academies. Our students can now have guaranteed acceptance into several universities including the University of Redlands.
We are preparing every student to be career ready. Whether it be taking the CNA exam directly out of high school or having the experience of live fire training.
We created new opportunities for our elementary students with our Competitive Edge Charter Academy. This has led each of our elementary schools to develop their own focus and goals, strengthening those schools.
During my tenure, we've built three elementary schools and two junior high schools all while maintaining a positive budget.
We have coordinated with U of R and and University of LaVerne to guarantee admittance of our qualifying graduates. We have an agreement with Crafton Hills College to allow YHS students to take college classes on our campus.
I am the only candidate and board member with experience in private practice. This experience gives me an understanding of setting and maintaining a realistic budget and living within those means. I am the only candidate who is not an educator. We need this diversity.
Having lived here for 49 years, I am available, willing to listen, and consider all viewpoints before making a decision. I have the best interest of the student as my guiding principle.
