I have been a Rocklin resident for 24 years and was appointed to the Rocklin City Council in January 2017 to fill a vacant position. I recently retired as the director of transportation for the Elk Grove unified school district, where I managed the largest school transportation program in Northern California and have over 30 years experience in transportation planning. I oversaw over 200 employees and an annual budget of $14 million, and have significant experience in budgeting and negotiations. I am a small business owner in Rocklin. Our family open their first business in Rocklin in 1922 and have continuously operating a business in the city for the next  94 years. As landlords to several small businesses I know firsthand the challenges tenants face as they work to attract customers and navigate regulations to open. I bring that real world experience to the council. I am a mother and a grandmother. My grandchildren are fifth generation Rocklin residence and I bring that perspective to the council. I am a forward thinking person who will honor and be a bridge to our past. My husband Dan Gayaldo is the principal at Del Oro high school where are four children attended.

Filosofía política

I believe our responsibility on Council is first and foremost to Public Safety: this year we will add three new police officer positions, three new fire fighter positions, two new police cadet positions, and purchase two new fire trucks. Strong budget experience is necessary so that we can provide the essential services for Public Safety and our parks.

Attracting and retaining businesses to Rocklin will continue to be a priority. I have been a member of the Rocklin Chamber of Commerce for many years, and  I will always work to streamline and simplify regulations for small businesses.

Are parks are a source of pride in Rocklin, and I am pleased to have been part of a counselor that has recently purchased 184 acres of a former golf course to create a future recreation area and additional open space.
