lameda County Supervisor Keith Carson represents the Fifth District which includes the cities of Albany, Berkeley, Emeryville, Piedmont and large portions of Oakland, namely the West Oakland, North Oakland, Rockridge neighborhoods and portions of the Montclair, Fruitvale, Dimond and San Antonio districts.

With a focus on inclusive and accessible government, Supervisor Carson brings together people who have a wealth of talent and creative resources to address the challenges facing our communities including homelessness and anti-displacement, health care access, transportation, sustainability and re-entry support. He also works to improve business retention and address the need for more living-wage jobs in our communities.

upervisor Carson chairs several Alameda County committees and organizations including the East Bay Economic Development Alliance, one of the largest business organizations focused on public/private partnership serving the San Francisco East Bay. He also chairs the Alameda County Budget Work Group Committee and the Alameda County Personnel, Administration and Legislation Committee. Supervisor Carson represents Alameda County on the boards of several additional organizations including the Alameda County Transportation Commission, the Alameda County Waste Management Authority and the Actuarial Committee for the Alameda County Employees Retirement Association’s (Chair).

Supervisor Carson attended the John F. Kennedy School of Law and earned a Master of Public Administration from California State East Bay and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley. He is married to Maria Carson and is the father of two adult children and has three grandchildren. He hails from Berkeley, California.
