My Top 3 Priorities

  • I would promote high academic standards to ensure the success of those community college students who transfer to universities. Too many transfer students never graduate, and that is a terrible loss to them and to our local economy.
  • I want to strengthen our vocational programs in partnership with area industries to satisfy their workforce needs and to also guarantee good-paying jobs to our students. And we should do more to compete with for-profit technical schools.
  • The district should study a new program at Santa Ana College that guaratees a tuition-free freshman year to those full-time students who graduated from high school in Santa Ana. If feasible, we should institute a similar program in our district.
