My Top 3 Priorities

  • The Environment - we need to treat Climate like the urgent issue it is. Manhattan Beach has done well as an environmental leader, but as one of the wealthiest communities in the state we have a moral obligation to do much more.
  • Land Use Policy - the Sepulveda Corridor is the lifeblood of our community, yet it has become primarily a pass-through for South Bay commuters. Unchecked traffic is hindering any redevelopment that could serve the needs of our community better.
  • Aging Facilities - the majority of City owned facilites were designed and built in the 60s. Looking ahead just 20-30 years all of our portfolio will be 80 years old. A Zero Net Energy Begg Pool replacement would be a good start.

What is it that Cities do?

They are largely responsible for the connections between us: roads, sidewalks, crosswalks, bike lanes, utilities, parks, community buildings and services such as police and fire.

I’m interested in focusing on all the many things that can connect and bring us together as a community and serve our residents first.  Building a Community is a continual act of optimism and should be focused on the next generation of Manhattan Beach residents.

I’m passionate about the design of cities and have a love for the small towns within them.  Why do I want to serve on Council?  I have genuinely and thoroughly enjoyed every minute and topic that has come before Planning Commission the last 6 years including the most contentious ones.  I’ve tried to listen to all sides and learn from each resident and have aimed for the fair and balanced decisions to each issue and clarity as to why I voted a particular way.  Thank you for your consideration!
